NEW SHOW ALERT :) #July2024

....Coming soonnnn :)))

Midtwenties Theatre Society is a non profit theatre collective that has served as a creative development space for mid-emerging artists practising in theatre, film, and the fine arts. The collective strives to produce quality theatre productions and shows that push the boundaries of storytelling, performance, and the theatrical space through a contemporary, adolescent lens that is socially authentic and reflective to the experiences of what it means to be in your mid-twenties in today's day and age.

Founded as a passion project by Canadian-Chinese film actor and director Beau Han Bridge in 2017 - the theatre group continues to hold the mission of creating and presenting theatre works that address contemporary stories and issues prevalent to the lives of contemporary youth through an independent lens that reflects mid-emerging artists today. The collective has been fortunate enough to produce six feature-length productions in the past six years, including three original plays "Above The Hospital" (2018), "Molly Misbegotten" (2018), "Persephone Mara" (2019), and three critically acclaimed adaptations of Kenneth Lonergan's "This is Our Youth" (2017), Rainer Werner Fassbinder's "The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant" (2018), and Yukio Mishima's "Two Modern Noh Plays: Hanjo & Sotoba Komachi" (2019), which won the Joanna Maratta Award at the 2019 Vancouver Fringe Festival.

Due to the sudden COVID-19 pandemic hit, Midtwenties seventh production of an original play called "Light Rapid Transit '' was cancelled, and the group disbanded and went on indefinite hiatus due to a lack of funding. However, three years later, Midtwenties Theatre is lucky enough to be chosen in the lottery and granted the opportunity to premiere an original play in Toronto at the 2024 Toronto Fringe Festival. With lots of new perspectives and things to say about being midtwenties today, the collective is excited to take on the challenge and stage a new original play called "The Bluffs", which promises to be the most radical play to come out of Midtwenties Theatre yet.
